Pickeral are a great fish to introduce young kids to lure fishing. They willingly tip off their location when the lure hits so you can teach them to watch for the signs pretty easily.
It was a great day overall. We say a king fisher , many turtles, beaver, and I'm pretty sure we saw a pine martin. I've only seen a few in my lifetime, but I think I logged another yesterday.
