Snowy Range (pic heavy)
« on: Aug 07, 2011, 03:34 PM »
Went up fishing on a couple creeks in the range this weekend, and i couldn't even begin to count all the fish we caught. My buddy and i were around the middle fork of the little laramie. Here are a few pics of a couple we did catch and some scenery.

Right on dude.  The Range is the best area in the world as far as I'm concerned.  :)

Looks like a lot of fun. I hope to hit some mountain creeks this week myself. Thanks for sharing.

I really enjoy the range as well, and MM good luck to ya! You can't beat a day on the creek when you are catching so many fish that you have to change flies because it has been so chewed up that it doesn't have anything but a little bit of dubbing! Hopefully I am able to get out again this weekend, it won't be long until that white stuff is flying again...  >:(

That rainbow would not be a native - it would be a wild rainbow.  Rainbow are not native to Wyoming, they were brought here in the late 1800's from California.

Brook trout are not native either, they were brought to Wyo. from the eastern part of the U.S. about the same time as rainbows.

Yep, that is correct, but it is actually a cut bow. It had real faint orange markings on both sides of the jaw, but still has the white tips on his fins. Hopefully I can get one last weekend in before school starts and then bird seasons, so my mind is really drifting away from fishing and moving more to ducks and pheasants at this point.
