In case anyone is interested, I am posting a link to a weekly fishing report published online by the Allentown Morning Call. The report is SEPA-centric, but it does include the Lehigh and Delaware rivers, Lake Wallenpaupack, Beltzville, Blue Marsh and other locations across eastern PA. It also includes a saltwater report.
The reports are usually submitted by local tackle shops and guides, and it is usually updated every Thursday or Friday. The report should get a little better once the fishing season is in full swing.

You're welcome. The only bad part about posting these reports is that I read them first. Then I get bummed out thinking about all of the great fishing that I'm missing out on. I need a vacation!

Sorry about the lack of reports. The blog had not been updated for a few weeks, and I stopped looking at it. I just looked at it for the first time in weeks, and the fishing report has been updated. Here is the report as of July 28:

Still no fishing report, but the Lehigh Valley Wild blog has been updated for the first time in months. I would hope that the next report will include the eastern PA fishing report.
Despite not having any fishing reports, this week's entry does include some good info about ticks and preventing Lyme disease. Here it is, and I hope to update it again soon:

in the paper every Friday for a while now. ;)

I see the archives, but isn't this the first fishing report of the season? Over the last couple years, I believe the fishing reports were updated almost weekly beginning in March or April. This report for June is the first fishing report that I have seen for the 2012 season.
Am I missing it?

As the ice fishing season is wrapping up here in NW PA im looking forward to soft water fishing reports here on MyFishFinder . Im sure ill see posts from the regulars from iceshanty . Cant wait ! ;D ;D ;D :) :tipup:

Been fishing local spots. Hopewell, The big O, Kerchers creek lake & Blue marsh. Some from shore & in my boat on warmer days. Nothing really biting. The water temps are to cold. Between 39 & 44 mostly. Funny how those same fish bite through the Ice. But not in open water ???

My finger still infected. Osteomyalitas. So Im still not working. But I can fish with a bobber. Casting was a challenge at first. Started catching some Gills on sunday. Several Bass & a few crappies yesterday.Water temp. was 48 - 50. Now were having 2 cold days again. By the weekend the water should be in the 50s. Whats up Capt. Just wonderin where you were fishin that the water temp. is already 50 ? ???

Fishin at Pymie is doin very good right now on NE end of lake ( Stewarts Bay ) also startin to get Eyes in the evening at creek mouths that run into the lake on chubbs and fatheads . Shore wadding is picking up in the evenings also . ;D 8)

Caught some nice slabs today at Blue Marsh all 11 to 15 "" . No little ones. ::)

Fisher at kerchers yesterday. Caught 1 trout. No crappies :'(

Fished Hopewell this past week twice. Once in my boat. Caught several bass both times. Caught some nice perch & bull gills on my 2nd visit. Cookin them up right now.

Stopped by trout run this evening. Lots of fish hitting the top. A friend of mine caught a nice big crappie. We snapped a few pics. & released it for another day. ;)

Fished hopewell tuesday morning. Caught a few gills & a perch. Power minnow n slip bobber set up. 5 fow. Fished last eve. trout run res. Caught a 12" perch same set up. Then the sky fell out. ;)

Last sat. took the boat to blue marsh. Caught more of those Big slabs. Kept 7. My brother & his son were up too. They kept 8. The biggest ones were 15" I invited a good friend to go on tuesday. I didnt catch any. But he caught 2. Marked them but they were not biting. :-\. The small crappies dont seem to be biting yet. Not at blue marsh. Cant seem to get them to bite on jigs. Been up to trout run throwing my fish finder. Not marking much yet. Its a late year for the bull gills, Slabs n perch. Been trout fishing on the raging manatawny. Just throwin the spinner. Not catchin any. They are stockin today. Should be able to catch 30 or sow. :tipup:

WOW :o I thought I was the only pa person on this site. Nothing magical . I just fish & find places to catch them. We dont catch them in droves. It takes a few hours to catch a couple of those big slabs.You put your bobber n minnow out & wait till one decides to bite. Once the bite really turns on. And I catch 30 plus crappie an outing. Catching those big ones is rare.Because the little ones bite bite it.

Hey Capt. there are quite a few of us Northeast PA fisherman on here, it aint the shanty but it is picking up as we are rolling through spring. keep your lines wet.

This weekely report seems to have fizzled out since April ! Fishing at Pymatuning is in high gear right now so if your looking for great walleye , crappie , perch , bass , catfish or musky take a trip here , you wont be disapointed ! Glad to see so many familiar names on here from iceshanty ! Tight lines :tipup: 8)
