GSF

There's just something about an October trip to the strip pits sw Indiana.  The leaves are just beginning to put on a show and somewhere there is a pit protected from any wind to allow one to fish for bluegills, redears and crappie without having to work
too hard.  We drifted crickets, either under a bobber or free falling and found most of the fish a ways out from shore between 6 & 10 feet down. Nice size, not big but certainly not small either. Persimmons and a good haul of shellbark hickory nuts made for a good weekend.   Yep I'm a Hoosier.

fish on,

Sounds like a good time. Never hit any strip pits but have gone to shak before.

Persimmons
I have only had persimmon pudding one time. Great stuff!!! It was at a second wedding reception at the bride's parents house. There was a huge bowl of it. After every one was done eating, us Michigander's asked if any one wanted any more of it. With no yesses we took the bowl and finished it off. I have never had it again.
