Just sold my big belt disc sander. Paid for the oscillating spindle sander and the smaller belt disc sander with some extra bucks to boot.

Win…win…win…

10,000 little pieces.

I’ll post pics of the finish. It’s a ways away.

I do this to myself every Christmas. I’ve been working on these three trains for 4 weeks on and off now. I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Took a break and started a big snowman for my Bride. There was a piece of applewood that’s been staring at me for more than a year. I love turning apple wood. She’ll love the snowman. Gotta turn her a couple birdhouse ornaments too.

I’ve got the yern to turn!

12 cars, 54 wheels, 15 reindeer and 3 Santa’s. Plus little pieces of firewood to fill the coal cars.have some more painting to do and some decorating of the cars.

Didn’t take as long as last years candle carousels. Those were a real challenge..

Getting there!

Worked on them pretty much non stop from 8:30 till 2:00. My eyes were going buggy. Few more hours and I can pack them up for Christmas

Love giving these to family Ben. Maybe they’ll think kindly of me when I’m gone.

Finished the Christmas project.

And no…it’s not a pitch for Olson Band Saw Blades (even though they’re the only blades I’ll use)

Switched up to a commission.
My Daughter asked for “dress collars” for her two English Cream Retrievers. One is a certified Therapy Dog and the other is in training.
This is for “Rooney” the older guy.

This one is for “Moose” the younger guy.

She wanted a black collar for him so I dyed it. It’s drying before being sealed.

A fun pause from woodworking to dress up my “Grandpuppies”

And yes….my bench is a mess.

The trains and collars look very nice, you do some amazing work Rg. Here’s what I have been doing in the shop lately.
Snowmen for the wife

Table for my daughter

Very nice! I don’t do furniture much. Spent many years doing cabinet work and I guess I’ve kind of burnt out on that.

Love the snowmen.  I’ve got one in the chuck that I’ve been playing with for my Bride. It’s kind of on the lathe ….off the lathe. Apple wood is fussy to get a good finish on. It’ll get there.

Fabulous work RG and Iceman. I'm not even close to being in your league but I've been tasked by Santa with building a dollhouse for my granddaughter for Christmas.  Fumbling along with my limited skills but getting there.
