Fished the tourny today, couldnt find any worth entering.  Did catch 15 keepers and 6 bass. Very fast drifts that 2 drift bags werent enough for.

Iceman, you did better than I did. Found lots of fish, just couldn't get them to hit. Marked a lot in 33 to 35 fow. Glad you got into some walleyes. A friend caught a 20 to 25 lb catfish yesterday. took him 45 minutes to get it into the boat on 6lb test. Biggest I ever saw was around 15lbs out of this lake. He said the same as I did when I caught my first one "has to be the biggest walleye in the lake"....h2l

H2l if it's any help we fished those bait balls you were talking about. 14 to 20 ft. Of water with crawler harnesses on bottom bouncers worked for us.

Can anyone give some tips for some decent smallmouth spots to try?

I've fished the shorelines, around islands and did OK but looking for structure in 10-15 FOW has been tough going.

I'm fishing out of Cranberry Cove marina, so I'm right in the center of the lake.

Any tips appreciated!!

jaconwall, almost any area with structure holds smallies. Most people I've seen fish for them on the shore line and that gets pounded everyday. They overlook the weeds  that hold the bigger ones and the deeper water ones. I'm towards the dam so I can't help you up that way.
On a side note, wife and I went out last weekend and the fish just disappeared. Took a long time to get an 18" walleye. Wind came up with instant whitecaps so it was the only one.

First time on the lake this year yesterday.  Did some trolling and found some cooperative fish.  Boated 12 walleyes and kept 6.  Pretty good day.  Seemed to mark more fish this year then last year in some of my old spots.  Found them in 30-35 mostly.

I am fishing Saratoga and have a question that should be the same for both lakes. I marked a lot of fish in the 30 to 35 ft. depth as well. They were suspended at about 15 to 20. Are they walleye in the thermocline, and is that how you get them by trolling at that depth? I  have not fished in years but always trolled near as possible to the bottom. Should I run at the shallower depth? Thanks

I don't troll very often (jig fish) but "when" a thermocline does form, usually around 30 fow the fish seem to always be on the breaks or just below them but above the thermocline. I too, have been seeing the fish on bottom in 30 to 33 fow and they have wanted the jig right tight to bottom. Now that the 4th has passed will be fishing more....h2l

I run an inline weight 50/50 for suspended fish on an inline planer boards and we have been catching a few while running the bottom bouncers.  We have been catching them also on the suspended lines trolling.
