Their baaack!! I swear this is real. I was out last night catfishin and set my camera on its self timer and shot this pic of myself waiting for a bite. I was stunned when I loaded the photo files onto my computer and saw casper hovering over me like willow-the-wisp. Thank god I didn't see the beastie thing I might have fainted away or run madly through the woods in fear.

Yup those darn beavers. I to thought someone was throwing rocks in the water. After walking the shoreline a million times to find who was being a jerk I finally realized it was just a beaver. man is that sound lound at night when all is calm.

Big Walleye,
                                    I can relate!!!!!
I was fishing L.G. a few years ago for bullheads and my boys and I were sitting there and all of a sudden it sounded like somebody hurled a boulder near us.I told my boys ignore it some kids are just having some fun.It was dark and we really couldn't see alot and every now and again the spash would be near us.I was getting uneasy and when I got out the flash light and checked around the shoreline I discovered what appeared as a couple of irrate beavers. They were so close we decided to let them have the fishing spot.

Used to fish the Cannonsville Res. in NY at night for bullhead.  People that would fish there during the day for browns would toss any carp they caught onto the bank.  Well, this would draw the black bears in to feed on the carcasses.  They were always pretty good at sneaking up close on us in the wee hours of the morning!!  The slightest snap of a twig would scare the tar out of us!

This is sort of funny, actually. I was about 8 years old and I was walking to a secret lake in the wilderness with my dad and brother. Well, I was about 40 yards ahead and around the next bend, so they couldn't see me because the trees and brush were so thick. Well, I heard a sound in the bushes and I looked over and I was not more than 15 ft. from a 200 pound black bear. With both ran in opposite directions at the same time!!! That's another reason why I am TroutFishingBear, because I come close up to bears quite often without knowing it; I have a knack for it.

That's scary Trout Fishing Bear. Once I was riding my mountain bike up a fire road in Montana, and saw a black bear next to a gate. It stood up on it's hind legs to get a better look at me and waved. I know it wasn't a real wave, it just looked like it. Then, he took off down the mountain.

It dosen't have to be late at night for the creepy crawlers to hit. Was out earlier this evening for some catfish. I got plenty but that's not the story. It had been one of those days when you see a guy backing his van into your truck and you just say go on you A hole bam, sorry I didn't see you, well pay attention! and that was a good part of the day. So I'm out gettin cat after cat and drinkin' a beer. I opened 4 cause I figured that I might need a few +1. The cats have made the switch from cut bait to chicken livers that's why I opened the beers before I baited up. Don't want to accidentally ingest anything worse than medical waste, come to think of it, you should have to have a lisence to use chicken livers. Anyway, I get the lanterns lighted in between fish and finish a beer before tossing out the next round.
The first rod goes fine but, just as I am about to fire the second a big a$$ mosquito bites my neck I lurch and feel the fragile liver pull off my hook, I vaguely hear it land behind me but am too annoyed to pay attention. Before I rebait I get out the Cutter. Probably a bad move because it acts like mosquito viagra and the little pricks were worse than ever. Loss of blood was beginning to take its toll. I flirted with changing my screen name to Wes Nyle for a moment but was brought back to reality by the rather large peice of debris in the huge swallow of beer I undertook. I immediately assumed that it was a garden slug, no problem, a little slimey protien isn't lethal is it? It was right about then that I remembered the chicken liver that flew off on my cast. So here I am getting ready to write my last will and testement, hoping to make it to my 50th birthday. Meanwhile Oprahman is sitting under some tiki hut drinking Sloegin Fizzes watching mosquitoes get zapped in the bug zapper.

I just spilled my coffee all over my keyboard.....ROFLMFAO... ;D "CHIT"

Thats almost as bad as having 2 beercans and using one beer can as a spitune and getting them mixed up. After 5 or 6 its no big deal. If you only had one or 2......

BTW Might I suggest keeping a closer eye on your camera. I think he's been nipping a little too.   ;D

I'm sorry man but that is too funny!  We talked about the "effects of chicken livers" when we fishing a couple weeks ago.  :-X  Don't worry, I think you'll survive, though you may not leave the bathroom for a few days.  :-\ ;D
May your doorknobs smell of fish!!

The Easter Egg Story. This has taken some time to get together and I am sure that it was not worth the wait. Several weeks ago I was out with the boys fishin for cats on the Susquehanna River. We were drinkin and fishin havin' a good ole time. These were new friends but they had already noticed that I am a bit weird! I tend to find things and collect them and take them home with me, old boards, deer skulls, turtle shells, doll's appendages, whatever I happen to take a fancy to. The river is prime findin' territory and this night was no exception. Shortly after findin' a 'possum playin' 'possum. I noticed this red plastic Easter Egg in the mud by one of my rods. After passing by this choice trinket several times I couldn't take it anymore. I reached down and hefted the egg. There was some weight there so I gave it a shake half expecting to feel the dead weight of river mud. To my surprise the egg rattled sharply. Now my curiosity was aroused. Expecting to find someones drug stash I tried to open the egg but couldn't crack open the shell. I handed it off to Operaman who popped the thing open with no effort at all. Inside was a penny and the brief little note that is featured in the scan I posted. I contacted the owner of the egg and tried to get him interested in getting our respective local newspapers to do a small story on the unusual event but the guy didn't seem too interested. Anyway I posted his responce to my letter and you can be sure that no easter eggs are going to be getting past me on the Susquehanna River anytime soon.
