Made it down to the Tippe for some sauger fishing.  Picked up two saugers, one crappie, and a drum that had me smiling until I seen it.

Water was high and moving fast, must have had a rain down there.  I imagine that was the lightning I was watching last night.

The first sauger I caught today had what looked like a dark line down it's side.  Been a nice one to keep on the stringer until he really colored up, but was too small and went back in.

All in all, it was a great day.

I would love to take the boat to the river. how often do you go?  I really want to find some walleye in Indiana. i love going to erie but can't always make the long trip. do the sauger get hot on the river?

I've only been twice in the last few years.  Only my 4th sauger I ever caught so I have no idea if they ever get hot, but I imagine they would.

If you want a close to home NW Indiana walleye lake, try LOW, Bass, or Maxi.  All three will give up some eyes for you.
