Title: Recent banana trout
Post by: massNtrash on May 07, 2014, 07:36 PM: Hey guys I have been out fishing quite a bit this year so far. I thought I would share these pictures of some banana trout that I have caught in the past few weeks. They are a cross between an albinos steelhead and a rainbow. Not native stocked fish that are rare to find. I have been lucky enough to catch seven this month since they were planted. The biggest was 26 inches and 12.4 pounds. All of them were caught on a five weight fly for with 4x tippets which made for great 15+ minute fights. I only kept two to eat and they were pretty good for a trout ;). Enjoy!

Post by: massNtrash on Aug 13, 2014, 09:56 AM: On a 5 wt with 4x tippet it was crazy. I had to run down the bank a couple of times to catch up with them. It was a good 10-15 minute fight for each one. It was all I could do to keep them from breaking me off till they got tired then I had a chance to get them close. Landing them was a challenge because my fly fishing net will only handle up to a 24 incher so that was out so I ended up getting wet a few times lol. I wish I would have remembered my Gopro because it would have been sweet video.

Nice thanks......looked up the golden trout after I posted that. The golden trout are pretty cool looking, some guys posted pictures on a website of the goldens they are more green on top. Those are definitely palominos .
