lowrance Hook 7 with Nav. Chip

Anyone bite on this years new model. Wondering how that chip will detail great lakes. I,ve heard the base unit gps has slow catch up speed to boat.  Theres hesitation to current position. Not sure how this units GPS is. Toss up between this and a garmin. No side imaging needed for me just. GPS Sonar And Down Imaging
I remember EVERY TIME I fished or hunted. The REST of the time I...uh...um..... musta been doing something else that didnt matter.

My buddy just got the Hook 5 combo with Navionics + card and it had great detail on the lakes we hit last weekend. GPS was accurate and there did not seem to be any noticeable lag. Nice device. I wish I had waited instead of buying my Humminbird, he spent $100 less and I think I like the Lowrance better.
