2.1 lb Crappie- Wall worthy??
« on: May 04, 2011, 05:43 PM »
Been getting into some nice crappie. Got one 2.1 lbs. Lot of my friends are telling me to get her mounted. Just wondering your thoughts on what size is wall worthy.

I would! It's maybe a once in a life time fish.

well if it is a trophy to you then mount it the size does not matter. mostly it is the memory of catching it. belive me my taxidermy bill has been quite high over the last few years ::) ::) ::) ;D lets see a picture 8)

no pictures, sounds a lil' fishy!! ;D ;D ;D
Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish.

I would mount it...I am still kicking myself for not getting a 2.8lb mounted...caught it on a large spinner bait while bass fishing...

Pretty small picture ???  Either way I would have had it at the Taxidermist before I would have been able to post a picture on here! ;D

Congrats on a real nice Crappie!

I would get it mounted.  I saw a mount that had a few fish on a stringer hanging off a piece of drift wood, it looked real nice, and I want to get a mount like that when I get some nice Crappies.

If it was not handled with mounting in mind when it was caught most likly it is damaged.  Best to keep it alive or wrapped in a wet towell. Scale damage will be a minimum.

This is an 18in. 3lb 4oz from last fall.
