Good day at Max...
« on: Oct 04, 2020, 10:07 PM »
Have been trying to break away by myself for a few hours and was fortunate to have the day free after church this morning.  There have been a lot of silly tasks around here like changing all the fire alarms/smoke detectors because they are over 10 years old and cleaning out the drain in the fridge to get rid of the ice build up...  So, off to Max and stopped at Shirley's on Rt 10 for some minnows only to find she was closed.  Hit the bait store at Bass Lake and got a good count of two dozen minnows for $7.50.  Launched about 2:30 and fished until dark.  Did my usual trolling in about 10' of water and caught about a dozen small mouth - all less than 14" and 7 perch with the biggest at 10".  Also caught 2 walleyes with each being just shy of 15".  Pretty windy with some drizzle and a gorgeous rainbow... I was the only boat out which surprised me and wanted to stay later to try for some night walleyes but also knew my wife made a great dinner.   So good to get away...
