blackstone river
« on: May 04, 2011, 11:29 PM »
aloha
been over to the blackstone river a couple of times now
now i aint much on fresh water fishing

BUT
i think i am in love ;D ;D ;D
been hoping for a carp on light tackle  nothing yet
but have caught every thing else bass, crappie, white perch, yellow perch ,suckers, dace, big sunnies
and lots of them like every cast lots
beeb casting small lures and casting a night crawlerout and realing it in slow
tonight i had a couple rods out with bread balls for carp was getting small tugs on my bread malls but nothing running
figuring the sonnies were picking my bait apart i would real it in and bait would look untuched
wondering if the little tugs are the carp picking it up and spitting it out
i sure my carp will come but also going to keep on casting and loving it
also the water has come down about a foot in 4 days

The Blackstone is probably one of the best carp fishing spots in the state. Keep at it. The little tugs may also be bullheads. If you do some research on carp, you can also find some mirror carp :) My PB is 33lbs.   Lavaman, nice to see you on here.

let's get together and go carpin. I got a nice 25 lb mirror and a few smaller commons but I don't go as often as I should. call me if you go. I will jump at the chance to hook a river monster.
