for cripe sakes just pull the lil critters off.  plenty of them around here(if you are actually out in woods). always has been always will be. last thing i want to think on now is a new vaccine for anything!   ::)

im with ya on that lowacord.  cant be trusted but can any these days?  seems the medicine world has gone to the evil greenbacks side.

Tim,

You ain't seen ticks until you've lived in the northeast. Even just standing on grass I've had half a dozen crawl on me in a matter of seconds. At least I've never seen anything like it here in Indiana. And Lyme's Disease is very common out there. I think the guys on this site that live in the northeast can back me up on that.

The crazy thing is I never experienced a tick when I lived in the northeast 50 years ago. Must have been the DDT they sprayed back then.

It's not just Lyme Disease now, either.

There are currently about a half dozen tick borne illnesses that are of varying prevalence out here in the North East (including one really nasty one that makes you allergic to red meat).

I have Lyme and it really is a nightmare, I do not blame people for being concerned. I was bitten behind the knee as a child and I felt like I was walking on a broken leg, nobody could figure it out until I came down with flu like symptoms a few days later. I now have a lot of pain with that same knee. Some doctors say with absolute certainty that Lyme is the cause. Other doctors say that's impossible and won't even entertain the idea. Its kind of insane that something so prevalent is still such a mystery when it comes to diagnosis, treatment, and long term consequences. I'm now in a situation where the only doctor that actually wants to help me is a disease specialist that I can't afford. That being said I'm still not interested in yet another "vaccine", seems like a potentially dangerous and lazy way of avoiding Lyme.
