Decent Multi Species Day
« on: Oct 09, 2021, 03:24 PM »
The DFW stocked Fish Pond (Windsor Lake) in North Adams with rainbows earlier this week, so I took the time to give it a whirl this afternoon.

It was overcast, cool (57 degrees) and damp and the foliage was starting to turn.

I prowled the western and southern shores of the Pond, and did pretty well - - landing a half dozen sunfish (biggest 8"), four rainbows (12" to 14"), two perch (biggest 10") and one (11") bass.

There were a few other people fishing the Pond (some from shore, some from boats) while I was there, but I didn't get a sense of how they were doing.

Nice work Jim.  I forgot about that in the fall.  Lake buel was like that last year.  Made me laugh to see guys blocking the launch to try for the freshly stocked pellet heads.

Hopefully, the rainbows that have just been stocked won't all get yanked out by meat fishermen over the next month or two, so that there's still plenty of holdovers during the upcoming ice fishing season (as there was last year).  Knock on wood!
