Canoe rodholder
« on: Jun 03, 2006, 11:54 AM »
I just installed a new rodholder system for my canoe.  I mounted a rodholder on each end of a 4 foot 1 by 3 plank.  You can lay it across the gunnels, and attach it with small c-clamps.  That way they are not always attached when you do not want them.  Important to tie the clamps to the board so you do not drop them in the drink.

I'll try to take a picture, but I've never posted one and am technically challenged.  It looks pretty basic, the rodholers are the type where you screw the base flat to the board (the base looks like a 3 pointed star, and only comes up about 1/2 inch above the board).  The actual holder then screws into the base. Cabelas sells the "Driftmaster" holder which is similar. Hope I described it ok.
