Containers out of weed mat material is the way to go. Plastic suffocates roots. Atheist drill alot
Of holes.
Like make a basket out of the coco fiber carpets?

Every one's gardens look great...
Mine is starting to come along.   One more bed to fill with fall squash and fill in the room I have for extra hot and green peppers..  Got the electric fence up and going.  There's a big doe with a fawn in the field and I don't want her to teach the youngan any bad habits.

Dont know what happened to the rhubarb, grew good but hasn't turned red...

This is my little attempt at a garden on hardtop.
Big red container is the dwarf raspberry “shortcake”, then a dwarf blueberry, fall gold raspberry, a grape tomato, and a strawberry

Then newly arrived (amazon order) and transplanted dwarf blackberry “baby cake”. Still acclimating in the partial shade.

Been procrastinating on posting pics of my gardens...so here goes.
Dom...you were absolutely correct about the clematis.

Asparagasaurus .....this shoot is close to 1 1/2" dia. Sorry about the upside down pic

Potatoes...bags in the background with cukes and tomatoes. The bump out has marigolds and cardinal climbers for my bees and hummingbirds.

The garlic beds. I'm already cutting scapes

The little herb garden. With a few mammoth sunflowers in the middle. ( some volunteer garlic there too.)

Trough Planter with radishes, sprouts, broccoli and cuke leftovers that my son is supposed to collect.

The tomatoes and pickles I've put in so far are doing great.

Mama's gardens are doing great.

My perennials are blooming as planned. Next up are the Asiatic Lillies

For a growing season that's a month behind, things are going well.

Everything looks fabulous. We have clematis along the back of our house but no bloomers yet.

You gave me great advice on the clematis Dom. Thanks.

Beds look great CNY. Nice job!

Planted the last three tomato starts today. San Marzano, Jubilee and Better Boy Hybrids. My son collected the remainder of the starts I had in the trough planter. Time for more radishes and some spinach.

My Son painted me this really cool outdoor art piece. Painted on the back of an old window.

We decided it looked good with the clematis. He's done dozens of these.

He's so talented.
