Value of a vintage Imperial Split Bamboo FR???
« on: May 19, 2014, 05:24 PM »
I was offered a vintage Imperial split bamboo fly rod recently. It has the original wooden case. The rod is useable but in only fair condition at best. I could just read the "Imperial" name on the but. Any idea if these are collectable?

Value of these rods is in the eye of the beholder. There were a lot of them made commercially in Japan and came to America after the war. Very common rod. In pristine condition I might go $100.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
