What do you have mixed in with those crappie? Are those white bass? Cleaned 1 once and saw the red blood vein and that was enough 4 me. I guess they are ok if you know how to clean them.

Good to see you guys had a good trip. I took 9 out of the lake on Tuesday night from the bank fishing one stump. All solid 10-12 inch fish. Can't wait for the lake to get to summer pool and the fish to come right in to the banks, then it gets really fun.

Great catch, you getting them on minnows or on tubes? I like to use the tubes.

abishop - we will take a few white bass limits each year and save for some eating. Can be a little strong. I like to soak them in milk - or even buttermilk - before eating. Not a bad fish for a "hot & sour fish soup" recipe I have. They are little firmer than crappie or gills for this recipe.

Cant say I never tried them. The vein I was talking about I thought it was down the main backbone. However it has been a long time ago. Only did the 1 fish, gave the rest away, and never kept another. Just my opinion.
