Chasin' smallies!
« on: Apr 20, 2010, 08:06 PM »
Well the weather was finally decent for Get_the_Net and I to get out to chase some smallies.  The evening started out slow but turned out to be a great night to be out!  We boated 14 smallies tonight with my personal best of 3lbs 5oz.

My personal best on the left.

Get_the_Net with a nice smallie.

And one with a black mark on it's tail.

Thanks again!

That was just a taste of what we will find during our trip to the LSC.  Hopefully that 3lb 5ozer will be a short lived personal best once we get there.  A good night, except for the broken rod!

Yes, they are starting to come up on some lakes.  You have to look for them and be very stealthy or you will never get bit.  Find rocky or gravel areas 3 -6 ft deep where the water is warmest and you should find some.

Gotta love Photo Shop for protecting those fishing holes...

Nice catch.

Did well on the smallies last week myself, love throwing a jerkbait to prespawn smallies !!!

Hopefully when you hit LSC this year you don't have near the wind.

so who broke a rod?

I broke a rod.  Same one I broke last year on the river with you when I thought I had a bite and set the hook on a log!!!   :rotflol: :rotflol:  One of my quantum tour edition PT 7ft spinning rods.  At 149.00 each you would hope they would not snap on the hook set!!  They have a lifetime warrenty so a new one is on the way.  I have broke 3 of them in the past 4 years and they replace them no questions asked and with no fee.  I still caught the fish though.  Although at 2lbs, not sure how I broke the rod.  Blank might have had a nick in it...who knows.

You won't catch a thing in the pouring rain!  You are donating this weekend.
