Rescue
« on: Nov 28, 2023, 01:11 PM »
Just rescued a little goldfinch that hit our front window. It was sitting on the ground with wings spread and not looking good. Brought it inside and put it in a box with some shredded paper towel for 20 minutes or so.

Released it and it flew away.

Made our day for sure.

We love our bird friends.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I've done something similar with hummingbirds. Don't know why or what they think they see but they buzz through my garage and crash into the back window. Poor things.

I’ve taken them in after they’ve crashed into our windows. Released them after 20 minutes and they’ve flown off.
Take a kid fishing

Other than feeling bad that they crashed, it was pretty cool to hold one in my hands. Such a fragile little thing. It’s a wonder they survive out there all winter long.
