id like to hear the story behind that one ??

Brown Trout are from Europe arent they??    I have heard them called "German Browns"

i think they were introduced here a long ways back.

brown trout are native to europe..the first brown trout brought to this country(pere marquette river) were german subspecies browns...most the sharp nose(almost a beak) browns in the great lakes are of this subspecies..german browns..or germans for short

yep
 burbut are called ling cusk layers eelpout

waleye are called walleyed pike or pike around these parts

bowfin are called dogfish layers cottonfish(because they taste like cotton)

::flame suit on::....most garbage fish are called layers, beacause there consitered worthless::flame suit off::

  thats the cause of the most confusfion
