Judging just by feel/length. This one was about 18lbs or so. Probably near 40". The one hit I had Friday afternoon and it was the one I was looking for.

I was after those yesterday morning and only the bow would play. Have a couple hours this afternoon.
Good luck hank!
-
Nice going! Plan to get out myself on the River for tomorrow afternoon...

Great partner!
Our daughter Kelly is down visiting.
Donna took her shopping.
The boat is finished enough to take her out in it this week. No fishing that day though.
However, I’m tired of waiting.
So I just went out to my shed and cleaned it. During this, I dug out my small “travel” tackle bag and a nice 6’ ML spinning rod and reel. 8)
When they get back in an hour or so from the shopping trip I’ll jump in the golf cart and head down to the fishing pier here in our park and throw some small Cleo’s. Not sure if I’ll catch anything, but it’ll scratch the itch a little bit.

Glad to hear it.

Beautiful fish, Jon.
Congratulations!
-
Nice fish Jon! Congrats.
Does the body of water it came from get planted with trout? As I'm sure you probably know they love soft rayed fish and allegedly the big ones go deep in the summer. Our biggest pike in my locale come from lakes that have planted trout. The state record of 48 inches and over 30 pounds I mounted for a guy spit up a 20 inch rainbow.

Nice gator! Traditional tackle, or in the fly rod?
-
Nice fish Jon
I landed its twin a number of years a go during a bass tourny on the Ct river near Bellows Falls. Mine was 42" and weighed 18 1/2 lbs.
I bet you had fun getting that beast into the boat
John

One of the rivers that feeds into the lake has trout but there isnt a direct stocking.

Interesting.

Interesting.
The lake is highly productive. In a few short years tiger musky went from fingerlings to over 20#. Esox species at this lattitude grow fast and die young compared to their northern counterparts. So says our local pike biologist.
Where I got my pb on ice, that place is full of trout. Have watched the pike slam them on thw surface after they were stocked.

That's cool you have access to water like that. Our state stopped planting tiger muskies because they claimed the low return didn't justify it. But although far and few between we do have some big northerns here.

Where would you keep it at quonni? I know the public ramp.is there but no marina. Thats a dangerous breachway. Galilee for easy tuna access.

Buddy has a slip right on the breach. I know its dangerous been surfcasting it for a long time. Have seen boats hit the jetty more than once.

I am in spirit. Boat has a way to go.

Jon, That’s a nice Gator . Looks like it didn’t miss many meals. Congratz on your PB . The biggest I caught up here in Maine was 39” long but skinny!
I caught it by accident while trolling for Browns. I had one down rigger set at 35’ and thought I was hung up until I looked at my depth was at 60 ft . Pretty good battle getting it in the boat and I admit I was a little scared when it was thrashing around while I was barefoot . 🤣

The ones I've taken in as a taxidermist that time of year were females full of eggs.
Pike love trout. Our state record over 30 lbs. spit up a 20 inch rainbow. And they say the big ones go down into the colder trout water in lakes in the summer.

Good stuff Wayne. Friend of a friend who is a hardcore trolling guy did something similar! I always hand bomb them no net and I get nervous too!
