My schedule is/was unusually tight this weekend, but stolen kisses are sweetest, so I squeezed in an hour and a half of fishing this AM.
I drove to Dalton to fish the East Housatonic.
The weather was mostly sunny and about 75 degrees.
Stream levels were about average - - which surprised me because, after the thunderstorms we've had the last two nights, I thought they would be higher.
After arriving unusually early (for me) in the morning around 8:30 AM, I fished a two football field long section below the Depot Street dam, without getting any hits other than a tiny dace and even tinier perch.
Then I drove to the East Housatonic Street bridge and fished some more.
There wasn't any action at the roll dam immediately below the bridge, but I caught a 9" brown at the next pool night quite a foootball field downstream from it.
On the way back to my car, I found a puffball mushroom (which looks like a human brain), which I sliced up and made the base of my puffball pizza for dinner this evening.
