Go get your earthworms
« on: Apr 20, 2009, 07:00 AM »
With all the rain the worms are out and mating. I just grabbed about 1000 of of the streets. It's easy pickings.

That's why I was on the golf team in school. Preparing for an adult life of weaving a golf cart down the course. :whistling:

 MUD
I believe you are the one to ask this......... Everyone else weigh in too.
What kind of setup do you have for crawlers? I'm talking about the whole bedding and all. What do you feed them throughout the summer?  I heard eggshells?
My Grandpa used an old styrofoam cooler he cut down so it was about 8 inches high and had the gray worm bedding up to about 4 inches from the top. He kept the bedding damp, but not wet, but never kept them longterm.  He had them in a fridge in his shed and I can't remember them ever crawling out?
I want to do this, any suggestions?

i used to have one that i had put in the ground.  i took an old big plastic flower pot buried it, then i lined it with a fine screen so the worms couldnt get out the bottom.  i would usually fill it with a mix of leafs and a little bit of dirt.  then i would put a lid on it.  it worked pretty good i would go to where the city dumped all of the leafs that they picked up thru out the town and get thousands of worms and the would last all summer
Early to bed, early to rise, fish like heck and make up lies......
