Good luck to all going out bow hunting this coming Sunday! I know it's been to warm out to think hunting, but here it comes. The wood shed is full to the brim. Been shooting the bow the last month or so. Moved a few stands, and freshened up some ground blinds. Just put a pig in the freezer. Let the good times roll!

It is hard to believe that the NZ opener is tomorrow. I am not sure when I will get out. I plan on hitting it hard closer to Halloween.

Yeah most of my friends are staying in the fishing mode for now. My Lund sits in the attack position, just want to fill a doe tag early, then back fishing. It's hard to do it all and work at the same time! Just a great time of year! Hope the cold front gets here soon, or I'll be grinding the majority of the first kill.

Kc you beat me, 267. When did they go to 30 shots? The guy I was shooting with totally unraveled, although it was his first 3D event ever. He left a pair of binos behind early on. The sweat was pouring off of him to the point of fogging his glasses. Then about 2/3 of the way through, he dry fired his bow! That was it for him, DNF. The bow did survive. So, with that I felt pretty good with my shooting. Not my best day, not my worst.

He did get them back right? When we got back to the clubhouse, they asked us if we lost any bino's.
I don't usually lose it on the 3d course, I wait until a buck walks in front of me and then I chole.

Yes he did get them back, nice honest people at the 3D shoot! Most of my scoring troubles come from not knowing where the points are on the target, like the cobra and the quartering back of a standing bear. We don't walk up to look. From afar the shot looks like a winner, then up close not so good points wise. But that's OK with me, I don't hunt cobras.

Just had to go out this morning and give it a try. I know I was not going to see anything but could not resist sitting in the stand and relaxing with a good cup of coffee.
