This Weekend
« on: Oct 09, 2017, 07:12 PM »
I fished the West Housatonic in Pittsfield for a couple hours late AM/early PM on Saturday.

Sunny, about 75 degrees and muggy. Water levels were low.

I fished below the Greendale Avenue bridge and around the Clapp Park trestle.

I caught about a dozen fish - - but unfortunately just lilliputian (3" - 7") perch and a mixed bag (7" - 11") of dace.

I did have one experience of note - - while I was fishing just under the upstream "entrance" of the stone trestle, a chipmunk on top of the trestle "bombed" me with pebbles.

Today, I fished the South Hoosic (first in Adams and then in Cheshire) for a little over an hour early this PM.

Cloudy, light sprinkles, about 70 degrees. Water levels were just a little on the high side.

I started a little above the Old Stone Mill bridge and caught a decent 10" brookie a little below the OSM on my way downstream to the water fall below Elm Rock, and then landed a hefty 14" brown just below the roll dam (about 1/2 way between the OSM and Elm Rock) on my way back upstream.

Then I drove further upstream to Cheshire Harbor, where I reeled in a skinny 11" brown just below the dam.
