The next generation chipmunk trap. Cobbled together from stuff on hand.

The string goes over the pulley not next to it.

It's  war I tell you! The little monsters are digging holes all over.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Looks good and should be effective.

One modification to consider is to replace the door with a guillotine. I share your dislike for chipmunks...

Nice pickings there Dom.

Guillotine....I like that one.

Way back when I used to travel up into Quebec fishing with a pack of my buddies, we used to have chipmunk launcher contests. The object was to see who could launch one the furthest into the lake. Wish we had digital everything back then as we do now. The photos are long gone.

Some of the contraptions were really hilarious. Once I built a pretty effective trebuchet. But the winner was a Kodak machinist who built a pneumatic launch arm. The thing, tossed chipmunks 20 yards into the lake unharmed. He pumped up a small eexpansion tank with a hand pump that activated the arm.

Wish you could have seen the machining, bearings, polished aluminum, valves and such.
It probably cost Kodak $5000 to make. Small wonder they went down the tubes.

I trap chipmunks with a slightly modified weasel box. (google "weasel box trap plans") It has a #1 foot hold trap that most of the time kills them. Mine are built a little wider to accommodate the larger trap as the plans show a simple Victor wood rat trap.

If my Bride would let me kill them, they'd already be gone. But, she's pretty firm on that count. So, I need to be creative.

Raq Good save. Birds love to nest in hanging baskets.

Go to www.michiganoutofdoorstv.com There is a segment on fishing a stream over in Holland on this weeks show. The guy was catching some nice cat fish out of a kayak. The last one was huge. That segment starts at around 20 minutes into the show.

Good save  Dom!
Looky what I found in the garden this morning.

Pulled up a head of fresh garlic, clipped some dill and made some refrigerator pickles.

Made a half gallon jar of dills. Nice surprise! Can't wait till tomorrow to try them.

Well Dom.....Some got it......some don't  ;D

There's slicer cukes  and just a ton of pickles coming on fast. The zucchini has 3 or 4 starts and looks like some giant mutant jungle plant.

I'll have to get some pictures later.
