wet mount transducer through scupper holes
« on: Mar 23, 2011, 07:52 AM »
not sure how many here use a kayak to fish,
as getting mine ready for this season
figure i post my transducer mount
been debating whether thru the hull or wet mount the the transducer
since i would like to use same transducer on 2 kayaks and bass boat went with this simple scupper hole mount,
will change it up as i go along, such as change nut for easier wing nut
so far easy to install and very secure, cover the bracket with some cushioning material so edges dont dig in,
minor things to work on
used a j hook had laying around which is just the right size,

you just gotta watch beach landings and banging up the ducer.
I have switched to Mad Frog mounts for my electronics on all my kayaks.
Hook 1 gear online sells the mounts and has videos of how they work.
They swing up when not using and the whole unit pops out.
