I second the recommendation of the "Storm rubber Pike" lure...

I bought some almost as a gag once- and now I fish them all the time.  The small Yellow Perch patterned Storm baits work great too.  Granted, they get shredded after the second fish- but the are pretty inexpensive and perfect for slow trolling weedlines, etc.

Those Storm swimbaits seem to catch everything...  The bass wail on the baby pike lures too...

I like Rapala's deeptail dancers, DT 14 or 16's, husky jerks hj14, and the jointed j13 90% of all the pike I catch not using live bait are caught with these. Live bait account for half of the pike I catch. Here in NY you are allowed to use to fishing rods at the sametime. I put a 6" to 8" perch beneath a float and use the other rod to cast with. Very deadly combination.

i used to use rattlin' raps in fire tiger colors, but quit because they take them way too deep. in the north here you can have 100 fish days and the average size is pretty big, usually between five and twenty pounds. when they have a big mouth like that the raps are just too small, and get into the gills too easy. sheeshkabobs do they love that lure though, couldn't keep them off it if you tried.

I wonder if you put a long feathered treble on the rat'l traps to get the pike to take them in less deep.  It seems to work for spoons, as it makes them snapped down moreso on the feathered treble, if the concept would work for the rat'l traps.  I've got some experimenting to do this season and see what the results will be.

Since I've just picked up some Spro Vive crank40 I may experiment with those ones first.

I HAVE TO SECOND THE RAPALA TAILDANCERS.  WORK GREAT ON FT. PECK HERE IN  MONTANA FOR PIKE AND WALLEYE.  EVEN PICKED UP A FEW LAKERS ON THE DEEP TAILDANCERS. - OH
