i use 6lb just in case i run into a few bass or small pike

Luv the 4lb stren magnathin out in the open but if I'm in the wood or pads I prefer the 6lb.  5' rod I'd use for jiggin or slips over the edge of the boat or for casting up tight in the sticks and trees.  I fish some stuff you gotta have 8lb to get em out and you gotta be able to throw on a dinner plate.  Enjoy your new toy.

4# stren works well, but I'll use 6# if I'm in really weedy or woody cover.

Well, for those i use #6 line.

4# usually, if i'm in thick rocks or weeds i'll go up to 6 or 8 lb test
