This is my 12th year with a lifetime and it's nice.... .

It has probably paid for itself too.

18 for me. I bought the lifetime bow stamp way back for a buck and a quarter. Has definitly paid for itself.
I have a buddy that I kept after until he bought one for his son before he turned 5 years old. I think it was 250.00 at the time. He is now 23.

I purchased a lifetime sportsman for my oldest (5 years) son as well. Too bad you don't get a youth discount on the ML and bow stamps...

Had a bachelor group of 5 bucks behind the house a few weeks back. Couple of nice big shooters showing the younger guys the ropes. Always nice to see!

Mine was $780 back then so it's been free for a year or so..
It's one less hassle to deal with and Dmp's are free.... ;D

Dacker,  I got the same deal, as did my GF.  I think if you but a Lifetime License now though you no longer get the DMPs for free.  Too bad!  jperch

Yes that is what I paid in 97. Sportsman was $500 plus the bow and ML stamps were $125 each. So $750 total for me.

You're actually 19 seasons in if you include this year. 1999 - 2017.  :thumbup_smilie:

that's  not   totally  true  KC  you  can hunt small game  on  your  own  property  or  on  land  you  live  on  without a  license  , a  farmer  can  shoot  nuisance deer   on his  farm  with permits  and  shoot  nuisance animals   such as  woodchucks at  any time

Interesting Trapp. Do I need to follow the small game bag limits on my own land?

I did not know this exception, here is some information from the DEC website:

You do not need a hunting license if you are:

A resident landowner primarily engaged in farming (including lessees and members of their immediate families) when small game hunting on farm lands they are occupying and cultivating.
A Native American living and hunting on reservation land.
Hunting on a licensed shooting preserve or big game shooting facility..
Note: To hunt turkey, all hunters must purchase a turkey permit. There are no exceptions.
