I did not realize there were Native Brook Trout on the Vineyard...

Salters...not many but they are around.

Some good news for the Deerfield as well.  I've never figure it out too consistently but heck of a fishery.

That is interesting, I've caught both there but good to hear there's natural reproduction going on, even with the uneven flows.

I never thought I would have something to add to this huge thread, but here it is:

Anyone could add.  I use this thread as my trout log book and its been fun to go back and read through.

They have been trying to get the hydro dam owners to have a minimum flow especially during spawning months for years.  Hopefully this is the evidence they need so the reds don't get left high and dry when they cut back the water significantly.

40% of the eggs are lost every spawning season.  This goes real deep with lawyers, trout unlimited, whitewater fans that want more peak flows....there was a temporary ruling to bump to support fall spawning.

Fished some more new water tonight.  It was high and off color but I got 1 brown to eat.  Didn't think I was going to catch a thing.

I have time too.  Maybe we can make something happen.  I have to be up that way later anyways.

1000 cfs out of the dam this morning, Pat.  That's a non-starter.

Even the freestones here were too high yesterday.   I tried a couple spots.  Had to have so much weight to get down all I did was lose some flies and gas but got the dog out of the house.
