First year I tired the crappie spawn, finally caught some had a blast

After many attempts I finally caught some crappies in spawn. All males but it looks like the spawn has finally started in my area. Monday caught 21 males(10-12") kept 12, lost 5-6 and had 3 line breaks. Everyone I caught their head was total black as coal.

Also caught 5 Bass and 2 9" gills. At first they was all 10" but as the water warmed they kept getting bigger. All in 2.5-3 fot on  1/16 jig pink tube, had a blast. Think I'll go back Thru and have more fun.

Nice fish! Definitely a lot of fun to catch during spawn times.

Same experience as me the other day and although farther east than you about the same latitude.

Glad you got in to them. Nice to catch some fish after crappy spring weather so far (pun accidental).
