Ice fishing in western MA
« on: Jul 23, 2004, 05:58 PM »
Looking for a great place to icefish in western MA. with lodging nearby. We are looking for pike, musky, and bass. I know it's early to think about ice fishing , but the goatboys are planning another outing and we want to be able to catch some nice fish. Any suggestions would be welcomed. ;)

the only place i've ice fished out west was in a tourney on Cheshire Reservoir,  Its got the fish your looking for I know that for sure and its three lakes your best bet would most defanitly be the first lake from what i know.

pontoosuc, in pittsfield would be a good bet.  its well known for producing the biggest muskies in the state  (it definitely gets crowded though, so showing up early wouldn't hurt).  pittsfield is a goodsized city (for the berkshires anyway), im sure youd be able to find somewhere to stay
