I've heard of a hundred methods on tick removal, now after reading this thread 110 , I was always under the impression that ticks twist into you like a screw and that you should absolutley 100% put petroleum jelly on them and turn them counter clockwise out.. The petroleum jelly makes it so their legs cans and head cant grab and twisting counter clockwise makes it so the head doesnt break off... Now Ive seen the method i just explained performed many times and performed it myself, and have been told by professionals that it is a very safe removal...
I took 2 of the smallest tics I have ever seen off my oldest son yesterday. The were the size of a pencil dot!
hey why even mess around if you find a tick on you tell the doctor ,chances are he's going to write you a Rx for antibotics.....
Yup and the RX will probably be for Doxycycline Hyclate .... for 28 days..... and one side affect - Avoid prolonged or excessive exposure to direct and/or artificial sunlight while taking this medication. I said screw it, when a friend rented a camp on a lake close to me - only four hours in the morning (wearing a long sleeve shirt) and my hands fried !!! I'm talking the burning sensation you get ice fishing with zero degree temps and you get your hands wet for too long. That pain lasted for 2 days before it started to go away.
