Title: Clayton N.y. Musky
Post by: raate on Nov 25, 2010, 09:49 AM
:o This HUGE fish was caught by John Kobiela of BushKill PA. aboard The Water Wolf .  It was 55 inches long, had a 29 inch girth, and was over 57 lbs. !  It was released with no problem and we even marked it swimming on the bottom as we drifted with it . Huge mark on the lowrance! I will have no doubt the next time i mark one of these monsters.  ;D The fish took an 8 inch green Believer with a williams whitefish spoon trailer (Believer was in the mouth though), as we were trolling in 50 f.o.w. on the north side of Wolf Island.

Congratz John on your trophy of a lifetime!

They are getting bigger!  :o

This one was caught by Ed Beers of N.J. today on the Waterwolf !

59 inches long, 28 inch girth 60 lbs.!

Took a 13 inch jointed believer in walleye pattern , trolling on a flatline 150 ' behind the boat.

Cell phone picture isn't the greatest , but when i get home i will post up a few from the camera.  Too bad this fish died during the long battle and every effort  that was made to return it failed..... :(  (rolled steel leader up in gills) the good news is the taxidermist is using the carcass to make master molds for future reproductions!  ;D

the Art Lawton fish, sometimes was, other times IS NOT, recognised as "official" ?  ???
The whole thing is a mess, someone just needs to GET OUT THERE and catch a well documented 70+ pounder already, and bring that world record home to NY !  ;D ;D

I have 50 charters booked already for this upcoming season..I'm trying....... 8)

No... But you can see this mount displayed at the 1000 Islands Bait Shop at times...and a reproduction of it, at The Koffee Kove in Clayton, in the near future!
Going out to Lax Reproductions in Conover Wisconsin August 7 th.. to pick this and other mounts up, for our clients...looking forward to sending more fish out there this up coming season!  ;) ;D
