A while back (last summer or 2) there was a thread about togue having red spots that sort of looked like chicken pox. Seemed to be worse in the summer when the fish were stacked together. I did a search and can't find it. Anyone remember what it was?

I have seen something like you described but it was on landlocked salmon in several eastern Maine lakes, usually in late summer or fall. Maine/s fisheries pathologist called it "epithelial papilloma of landlocked salmon" I never have seen it in togue, but something similar may happen. Here is a website: https://en.wikivet.net/Papilloma_-_Fish (https://en.wikivet.net/Papilloma_-_Fish)

I see it all the time mid to late summer. Some are actually bleeding from these spots.

Not sure if this is an extreme case of whatever virus or parasite causes the spots, or something else altogether, but here's one I caught a few years ago.

I've caught a few similar to that further north. That is pretty bad though

like some form of flesh eating bacteria! nasty stuff! you guys ever show those pics to a bio? they might be interested in checking out a fish with this. the ones I've seen weren't this extreme. I've seen salmon with the same thing.
