Nice catch -- curious as to technique - drop shot? crickets? red worms? similar technique may be applicable for some of us on other bodies of water...

Same presentation as the 11/3 post.  No red worms, just crickets

Way to go Prince!!! I know if I'd gotten myself out there I would have caught some too. Been duck hunting, "Looking " instead.
Winterized my motor Sunday.
Nice fish!

nice mess! good job!  wonder how those crickets like that 27 fow. lol

Must suck to be a cricket!

Hey Tim trout harvest is over. 140 trout in the freezer shrink wrapped and labeled by species, length, and weight ready for sale. I think I've got at least 75 still swimming in the pond. Will be hatching in my basement again in a few weeks.

Very nice healthy fish. Reminds me of gills from Clear Lake east of Fremont.

Thanks for sharing!

Makes me wander if crickets would be effective ice fishing?  Anyone ever tried that out?

Oh great, then I would have one more thing to haul out on the ice.... A heated Cricket house!!

Thundermist lure YouTube channel had a video with fishing crickets and worms side by side, the crickets didn’t perform very well. The worms at least resemble seasonal forage.

I know you can buy crickets online and I sure would like to buy some 1/2 inch crickets for ice fishing and try them out.  I can't believe they wouldn't catch fish.

If you have a pet store near you, most of them sell crickets. Petco has sm md and lg sizes too. Also a source of wax worms and meal worms.
Unless you need bulk amounts, shipping cost will far outweigh a trip to a pet store.
