new record walleye

saw some pictures yesterday of a 18.2 pound walleye caught on the st Lawrence river .... it was weighed on certified scales and should be a new state record walleye .... still full of eggs 21 inch girth ....

I predict there will be an even bigger one if there are any survivors from that age class in one or two years. There was an age class of 10 to 12 pounders a couple of years ago that may be still around. (The winter we had really good ice on Erie). I just mounted a 14 pounder that the guy caught last spring and brought in recently.

Regardless a once in a lifetime fish and a real hawg. Hope he takes it to a good taxidermist.

There were some really nice fish caught this past winter from lake Ontario

I could be wrong but I seem to remember an 18 pound walleye caught in a restricted area on Lake Michigan in Indiana waters that would have been a state record but since it was caught in a restricted area it wasn't allowed to count. Same thing happened with a big brown.

Some BS about this waterway being protected by Homeland Security or some such nonsense.

Oops my bad. I thought it was caught in Lake Erie.

I have seen pics from buds with great eyes from Erie
 our previous record of 16.9 was caught in a private lake which in my opinion shouldn’t have counted cause it doesn’t have public access,
