I have seen pics from buds with great eyes from Erie
 our previous record of 16.9 was caught in a private lake which in my opinion shouldn’t have counted cause it doesn’t have public access,

Some states have seperate records for private bodies of water.

^^^^ I agree with this statement ... I never have heard of mystic lake until I saw the record walleye came from there did not know it was private .... it must be a big lake to produce walleye of that size ....

A couple years ago when a friend caught the NYS record brook trout it was just a few months and it was in the next years Fishing Guide...h2l

There were some really nice fish caught this past winter from lake Ontario

The 2018 season is off to a good start. I also heard rumors of the NYS crappie record being broken not once but twice in the same weekend, from the same lake. (Cattaraugus County)

It is also very possible that the state record walleye out of this Mystic Lake was not actually caught there. Maybe the guy didn’t want the word to get out about where it was caught so he said Mystic Lake .....
