A mixed Bag...
« on: May 24, 2018, 12:17 PM »
It's always a good thing when one's buddy has a serious 22' bass boat.  We have fished together for over 40 years.  Early on I had the water craft - usually a canoe or a small jon boat. In all honesty, I enjoy fishing out of my Old Town the most. But... I have learned to deal with the Ranger...  Our fishing
tastes have evolved as well.  He is a professional grade bass specialist and I am a multispecies nut.

Last Tuesday found us on the reservoir northeast of Indy.  He got there predawn and fished until I could
get away at about 10 AM. I met him at the dock and away we went. He had the front seat and was fishing a variety of baits.  I commandeered the back seat and peppered the shore with an assortment of
small jigs. We fished for about 3 hours altogether.  True to form he caught several nice bass, the largest going 2.5 pounds and I ran it up on crappie, bluegill and one redear that went 13 ounces and looked like a miniature hubcap.  All in all a good summer trip.

fish on,

Sounds like a good outing to me and you can't beat a buddy with a boat....unless it's a buddy with lots of deer stands with big bucks around!
