Thanks for breaking the ice Oneida1!
You give me some hope as I went out last Tuesday night for another skunk.
Water felt a tad cooler and I stayed well past dark-dark but not action.
Plenty of grass to contend with.

i have contacted the us wildlife service i'm waiting for a call back ....my concern snakeheads do not have forked tails,i don't want to mislead anyone ....i'm waiting for a call back ....freddie caught the tail right away......

fred this is NOT from the US fish and wildlife but look up a split tail loach
this is a picture of what i caught today
again it has not been established what it is but northern snakeheads do not have forked tails ...it did have teeth and was aggressive

well we won't know anything till the service calls me back....i know now i should have saved the thing instead of feeding sea gulls ....but i did get a picture which i rarely carry my phone near the water .. any one else have a guess it's welcomed

Thats 1 odd looking fish .... can't find anything under the snake head pictures, especially because of the forked tail as was already pointed out ..... maybe a hybrid of some sort or something someone let go from their fish tank ...... Almost looks like an African snake head pattern wise but that tail .... like a snake head with a catfish tail.
