Headed out tuesday afternoon because a friend called
Left at 6, hit the lake by 6 30
Started tossing mister twisters on 1/16oz orange jigheads around cover.
Picked up 53 yellows in an hour (most were 8-10in with 9 that went 12-14in) ALl were skinny and the biggest wieghed in at .9 on the rapala scale- WAY spawned out.
During this hour I got a pickerel at 8in, a trio of bass- a pair of 10in and a 2.8pound largie all on the ultralight and 4pound flouro
BUT one of the biggest highlights was flipping into the perfect blowndown tree (fresh system) and nailing out 4 gills ina row- the biggest was the 10.5in seen here that went 1pound on the rapala. We caught a good number of thick pumkinseeds too with nothing under 7in.
Fish were rising so i threw on a clear bubble and a mayfly (fresh hatch from the rain I guess) and started pulling out slab 9-10in gills every couple casts, had a really nice gill on that snapped the line when I tried to lever him into the boat. Easily a 12in fish.
All these fish were in 10 FOW with 8-9 feet of weeds which made everything horrible fishign besides the shoreline. Went back towards shore and fish a deeper spot on the way back home that happens to be an overflow type stream- found crappie so stacked we were catching them on every cast- most were only 5-7in but still fun, landed a 13in crappie on the third or fourth cast WHAT A RUSH
Wieghed him in at 1.1pounds and FAT
Brought the "big" gal home along with my big gill as trophies
Headed back last night with a friend-the boat at home- and nailed um from 7 till 8 30. Tally was as this goes
# Size
6 7in or less
9 8in-11in
56 12-14in
5 15-18in
Tthe 5 heaviest fish went 13.6 pounds and all were released besides 13 12in or 13in fish and the one big gal that went 18inches and 3.3pounds
AS far as me and my friends knew weve never caught a crappie on this pond but my friend caught a couple small ones the day before flipping into the brush. Long live private ponds who your friends father owns lol. THis place is horrible from shore though- so much friggin brush.
Suprised I didnt get squat when I tried the jig n pig for a little bit, 2nd and third times fishing here.
Heres some pics of the big gal's, none of the slaughter from last night- I cleaned 5 pounds of fillets for my friend and his family to eat (took a coupel fillets as payment lol)
