My jalapeños are coming on real strong the past week. I'm going to have enough to pickle a good batch. We love them on sandwiches, subs and the like, but I've never picked them.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

You have a crew of migrant workers.

Never actually do the work yourself.

My giant jalapenos are still cranking out as well as the pablano patch. Wife made baked shrimp stuffed pablano, good eats (goes well with beer)

That looks great Bart....  You got my wife thinking. For her being Dutch and me being Italian we eat a lot of Mexican..   I wish I took a picture of the garden Spanish rice she made the other night. It was awesome...

I pick them...when they're ready and not before.

That said, my egg thing was dinner tonight.
Start with
5 whole eggs
3/4 cup 1% milk
Chopped, fresh parsley, some salt, cracked pepper
Chopped ham or whatever other meat you like.....or no meat oat all.
Chopped jalapeño
Chopped onion
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Jalapeño Jack cheese

Sauté the broccoli and cauliflower in some olive oil for a bit to soften

Add the ham, onion and peppers and sauté some more till tender

Whip up the egg mixture and pour over the veggies and ham, top with the cheese strips. Reduce the heat to low.

Cover and cook on LOW HEAT till the surface is firm.

Cut pie shaped slices, top with your best home made salsa and chow down.

Seriously good eats. Vary the veggies and meats to suit your tatste.

I love this thread. We grow....we cook.....we eat!

It doesn't  get any better than that!

Tons of possibilities there Dom. It's one of those "refrigerator recipes" . Look around and use what you have. If there's eggs and cheese, it cant be bad ;D

Bart, those look amazing. Does the Mrs care to share a recipe?

Bob, my bride says it looks like a quiche without the crust..  Which at our age is a good thing, we don't need any more bread...   ;D ;D      ;)

White flour is a killer Dom. Pastry is that and more.  But, dang it's good once in a while.

Look's really good, in my neck of the woods we call that a frittata. Big fan of them, quick, easy, leftovers make great sandwiches.

Looks awesome,  Bob.  ;D

Not to change the subject, but I am SOooo... disappointed in this "rain." We didn't get 1/16 of an inch. My poor eggplants look like scrotums hanging on the plants.  Peppers are withered and wrinkled.  Broccoli isn't growing. The spring fed farm pond is so low that I can't create a siphon any more to water the cattle.  I had to start hauling water yesterday and I don't see an end in sight.  Gonna ship them next Tuesday. I have never seen it so dry. Oye Veh!   :'(
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.
The brook trout is the prom queen of the trout world, and a promiscuous prom queen at that!
