Sauerkraut update.
We bagged it up tonight.
Got 19.5 quart freezer Ziploc bags filled.
Smelled awesome.

I saw cans of kraut at the store on sale yesterday for $2 a can.
I figure ours is about the same as 30 cans.
So we spent $20 for about $60 worth of kraut.

If it cost more than store bought I would still make it because of how good it tastes.

2nd update.
Never rinsed it before I bagged it.
So I never got the excess salt out of it.
First bag we cooked up was salty as help.
Next bag I rinsed before we cooked it and it was fine.

Also, 3 weeks wasn't enough.
At least not for us.
2-3 more weeks would have been better.
It's sauerkraut, but it's mild.
We like it stronger.
More fermented.

That's a good landlord :clapping:

They browse around my bird feeders all the time. I leave a couple corn cobs out for the squirrels and blue jays. They nibble on them.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

It's hard to believe we start filling pots with soil in 3 to 4 weeks....

They already have the pergolas and summer furniture being set up at the store. We still have 57, 24" snow blowers in stock. They're moving the garden tractors inside in the next couple weeks.

My garden still looks sound asleep.

My bride's new little hydro-ponic herb garden. Dill, Thai basil, and Genovese basil are up. Mint sprouted today.  Still waiting for cilantro and parsley.  She started it all 10 days ago.  Fun!   ;D
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

Uhhhh..... I understand that's way too aromatic for in the house....   ::)

We envision having fresh cherry tomatoes throughout the year after the herb thing is done.   ;D
