Last Sunday{June 4th} I went fishing for most of the afternoon and into the evening. The action wasn't hot and heavy but I did manage 2 fish.
Half an hour after hitting the water I hooked into a 23 inch pike. This fish cut it's self up all down it's body after taking 3 swipes at my lure that had the razor sharp barbless gamagatsu hooks.
It grabbed my homemade neon orange and black crankbait,{middle right hand corner}.
The second fish was a chunky 17 5/8 inch walleye.
It grabbed a glow storm wildeye
I noticed on the fish finder that the fish were suspend in clouds of may fly larvae and the hatch was going on, so it may a while before they are really hungry or aggressive.
I chatted with a few other angler who told me that they had not caught any fish the few time they went out so considering the circumstances I was happy to get a grand slam.
