Real good looking fish there. You can even see how fat it is in the picture. I almost always examine the contents of a nice fishes stomach. It gives you a ton of insight into what they are eating in that part of the river and what kind of presentation you should use next time. I cant wait to get out on michigans trout opener and catch a fish like that.

Fishing is life

nice looking brown, WTG!!!

wow the creek is super high, almost in the picnic area. Did you try the top hole by the upper bridge, that hole has always been nice to meeee.  ;) They like to hang under the bridge, plus you get to watch all the people walking the path on the otherside up to the geysers.  ;)  give a sinker and powerbait a tie, hint, hint.  8)
Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

I live with FEAR everyday, and sometimes she lets me go fishing!

Actually, the large brown salamander is an Eastern Newt.  I'm kind of surprised that the trout swallowed it, as they are mildly toxic if memory serves.  Nice caddis in there too.

Definitely a newt, they are poisonous(in the skin) in the red eft stage, when they would be more susceptible to predators, but not as adult newts.
