Nice job. How far did he go after you hit him. He's a dandy

Thanks guys.

He went about 40 yards. I hit a little far back but clipped both lungs and the liver. He bounded one time and walked off flicking his tail. Then he was out of site in some brush. I was not super confident on the shot and his reaction. I waited an hour to check the arrow. I could see him laying from there and he had gone down just out of site.

Nice buck Bruce. Looks like yesterday was a good day for a few of us. Had a doe blow twice couple hundred yards to my left. Knowing it didnt catch my scent trail or stream i kept an eye out.  5-10 mins later this dude comes strolling in.

Well, I finally broke the ice with the crossbow this morning. I took a small doe. A really small doe. I told myself I was taking the first deer that gave me a good shot. Small or not, it's going to taste better than tag soup. At least it didn't have spots. Still have 6 tags to fill this season. 8 with a couple transfer tags. I have a recipe for white hot dogs that calls for veal. I think this will do just fine.

bruce  baul  you both shot  some nice deer congrates !

being older  I hate  shooting bucks the antlers  get tangled in  brush when you try dragging them and they are  to heavey to hang , old guys like me like to shoot little  deer that weigh less!! besides a  small target is harder to hit meaning it's a lot more sporting   :rotflol:

great  job guys  ^5

just like salmon  fishing I see big guy had to  find a dead one to bring home !!! :rotflol:
