My daughter and I fished yesterday. Water temp 81* no wind and no fish. Only had a couple very light hits. Fished 11' down to 40'. Marked very few fish. Fished areas that I haven't fished in years. I can't figure them out, haven't had a year like this in many, many years. I have caught more walleyes in an hour than I have caught this year. Most of the guys I talk too say the same. Bass fishing is still good in the shadows but I will NOT fish for bass....lol....h2l

Glad you enjoyed the day with your daughter, the Dead Sea strikes again can't figure those walleyes out. I don't feel so bad now when the pros can't catch them either.lol

Wife and I marked lot's of fish. They stayed right there. Couldn't figure out why no bites. 1, 16.5" walleye all weekend. Bass up the wahzoo. I'm thinking hot water and they are staying in the current to keep cool. If you know what I mean. Stay Safe.

Kim, if you figure them out PLEASE let me know. Current, there is so little water coming in the creeks near me are "bedrock". None of the guys that I talk to are catching walleyes. Everyone who fishes for bass are doing well....h2l

      John,
Since I'm down a ways on the "arm" and the bottom goes up and down there is current there and the walleyes are seeking the cooler water. IMO Definitely different this year fishing for them. Really stacked in some areas but tight lipped. Can't jig or cast lures to save my butt so I'm regulated to use live bait. A few more days and another round.

Kim, the lake has come up about 3" but there should be some run-off over the next day or so. With that end of the lake being not as wide, some current may be seen, more so when they have the gates open.
What gets me is, not even getting any smaller fish. Most years, I have found smaller fish to be very active, even if the larger ones are tight lipped as you say. Could it be that we had a couple poor spawns and we are missing a year class or two? Maybe I just think about it too much, people are starting to talk about me....lol.
Good luck this weekend. As of right now, I think I will go out on Thursday and give it a try. Will let you know....h2l

Congrats John. That's a first I have heard that happen. All the perch I have caught in the summer have been 12" or bigger. Winter is another story. I don't catch too many down my way.
